Marketing Perspective

Social influencers represent every industry. They can be found t across all digital and social media platforms. Facebook, Twitter, and SnapChat to name a few.

These social media influcers or stars are individuals that use a social media platform and able to gather a large following. They easily influenced the younger age group. However, there are some influencers that I personally follow like Dr. Eric Thomas. He doesnt only use Facebook or Twitter but I have found him on LinkedIn and YouTube.

The strategies that these influencers use is researching and targeting their audience. They are aware of their audience and the content that their audience likes, knows.

They connect with their audience with a brand and promote the brand’s product or service to their viewers.

By using social media and influencers, companies create strategies after they analyze the analytics to understand the target consumer’s demands and likes/dislikes. Also content can be shared much faster in social media. With just a click, the brand reaches out to millions of people out there and with an influencer doing the marketing, they are getting there hundreds or thousands of followers to check out the brand. For instance, when a consumer see the influencer that they follow speak to a brand that they really enjoy, the consumer or follower will feel as if they need to check that brand out to.

The Voice: Integration With Live Television

After reading the article it was clear that The Voices consumer engagement was a big part of their digital marketing plan. Using the Voice Instant Save, which inspired fans to send millions of tweets voting for the artists they want to save from elimination and results are shown on-air in real time. They came up with a great way to get views involved by using Twitter and having fans use the hashtag #ChairMeUp. Fans would then receive a graphic with their name on the back of a Voice chair.
The Voice partnered up with some major social media platforms. There was the Facebook | Live Backstage Video, this gave their target audience what they wanted to see, what happens backstage.
The Voice reaches out on many social media platforms to gain engagement of their audience. In the article The Voice: Integration with Live Television, the writer discusses how the show wanted to give a full social experience that brings fans in on the show. Let’s just say that they were successful in reaching their audience and getting their views involved in the show. The Voice has emphasized digital voting which is different from past shows like American Idol. Of course they still the old standard of voting by phone, but there’s also an NBC Live app, NBC.com and an iTunes-driven voting platform. This gives their viewers tons of avenues to vote for their favorite artists.
They use their digital savvy and strong fan based along with these new experiences bring a one hour a week show to a 24/7 storytelling journey.
Taking a look at their website and Facebook page you can see that their fan base is huge and spread wide among the generations. Right now the page is promoting their newest Judge, Nick Jonas, to the show. They are posting videos daily with their ads of the show and the date when the show is going to air. Viewers and followers are online engaging on posts and voicing their excitement for the show This is just what the show wants, people being filled with excitement for the show to return and to return with a new judge.

David’s day in using digital media

Everyday I wake up to my alarm on my phone, I grab a cup of coffee before starting my day online. Most morning I check my emails. I have gmail account that I use that is also connected to my Indeed account. I am always intrigued by the different jobs that I could qualify for and my wife badly wants to move to San Antonio so some of my job searches are in San Antonio. While checking my emails I usually stumble across some email ads such as Dicks Sporting Goods or Famous footwear but this is usually an every other day membership sale they are having. I also have my Credit Karma account that send me alerts. This can sometimes be very frustrating. After I check emails I start reading news articles and sports articles. Right now I am extremely focused on the road to the Super Bowl. I tend to come across more negative articles than positive but I weed the negative ones out, except football. Other than those few digital media tasks I don’t do much on the digital media front. I don’t have any social media accounts and I don’t use any other form of digital media communication. Really, I don’t have much time other than first thing in the morning checking emails. I also check emails at work, usually from vendors for the shop.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
